No Butter Buttercream

This No Butter Buttercream is made with cashews that are blended until thick and creamy which results in a smooth frosting that is perfect for cupcakes, cakes, and more! It feels and tastes like traditional buttercream frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 3 tbsp cashew milk or nut milk of your choice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Place cashews in a small bowl and cover with hot water and soak for one hour. Please make sure they are soaked for at least one hour. This will ensure a creamy buttercream!
  • In a food processor, combine all ingredients and process until very smooth
  • Use immediately or cover and place in the refrigerator for up to five days
