Homemade Pork Breakfast Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp marjoram
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp ghee or olive oil

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly
  • In a pan over medium heat, add ghee or olive oil. I prefer using a cast iron skillet. Cast irons brown meat very well
  • Scoop ¼ cup of the sausage mixture and roll into a ball. Place in the hot pan and smash down forming a patty. Continue forming patties until all of the mixture is gone. You may need to cook two batches depending on how big your pan is
  • Brown the patties and then flip to brown on the other side. Each side will take about 2-3 minutes. 
  • Serve with some root vegetable and leafy greens. Enjoy!
