So many of us are spending extra time in the kitchen these days. Cooking and baking is a great way to be creative, create healthy meals, and is a wonderful space to connect with friends and family. To help you cross off some items on your gift list this holiday season, I rounded up five of my favorite Michigan and sustainably created kitchen tools and utensils that I use almost every day. I promise not to tell if you decide to buy yourself a gift or two!
Lost Timber Wooden Spoon & Spatula
Have you ever heard the saying, 'a cook is only as good as his ingredients?' Well, I believe that to be true and I also like to think kitchen utensils have the same impact. A chef creates a connection to the kitchen items that make cooking enjoyable. I have been using a wooden spoon and spatula from Lost Timber Woodworks for a while now. They have quickly become my best companions in the kitchen. I use them with every meal, more than three times a day! The wood is non-scratching, sturdy and the handles fit comfortably in my hand. I highly recommend putting these at the top of your list to buy for that special chef in your family.
You can buy the same wooden spatula and spoon that I use along with many more items by visiting Bill's website. Make sure to check out his Instagram page for some behind the scenes sneak peeks including his adorable pup, Rudy!

June & December Kitchen Towel
My mother in law bought me a set of flour sack cotton towels from June & December for my birthday and they are my absolute favorite! The soft linen and natural designs fit perfectly in my kitchen and put a smile on my face every time I use them. I love how something small like a kitchen towel can add so much character to a space. The cotton material is also durable and very absorbent. They can easily be washed in the washer just like any other towel. June & December has some new winter prints that will complete any home for the holidays.
June & December is having their annual Small Business Saturday Sale the Saturday after Black Friday. There will be lots of fun things happening at both their store location and online including 25% off site wide until 11/30. Check out their Instagram page for more things June & December.
About June & December

Laura Lou Pottery Herb Stripper
Laura's ceramic herb stripper has become one of my favorite kitchen tools. It makes removing the leaves off rosemary and thyme so easy and actually kind of fun! My daughter has quickly become my sous chef. She is always helping me cook and bake. I love giving her the little hand held herb stripper and watch her try to fit the herbs into the holes. It has become one of her most anticipated kitchen tasks.
About Laura
Laura lives in Leelanau County, Michigan where she makes small batch and one of a kind ceramic pieces such as herb strippers, spoon rests, mugs and tumblers, plates and bowls. This year she is also making modern Christmas tree ornaments. To learn more about Laura and to shop her collection, visit her website here and be sure to follow her on Instagram for news on upcoming sales.
The purpose of my hand built and wheel thrown pottery is to provide the framework for your meals, mornings, quiet times or home décor—to encourage the rhythm of this land that guides my work. This is my art. Your nightstands, cabinets and kitchen tables are my gallery.

UASHMAMA Paper Wine Bags
The first time I heard of UASHMAMA was when I was in Charleston in 2019. I was walking down the street with some friends and stumbled upon their store. I was instantly intrigued with all the items that were made from paper. All of the paper products made by UASHMAMA are first harvested as raw material in a sustainable and controlled manner before being treated with their signature material and becoming the final material, AGGO. This material allows for minimal chemical processing and allows the paper product to be reusable.
Two of my favorite items made by UASHMAMA is their wine bag and canvas apron. Their canvas apron has quickly become one of my daily accessories. Their wine bags make for great gifts and are stylish sitting on the counter.
UASHMAMA will be running a 20% off Black Friday sale both online and in their Charleston store Friday-Monday. For more information and to see the complete collection, visit their website and make sure to check out their Instagram for all things UASHMAMA.
About UASHMAMA

Halo Reusable Dish Covers
Halo Reusable Dish covers are flexible, made from cotton and come in multiple sizes and designs. They protect food from harmful toxins that are found in plastic wrap, they cut down on single use plastic, and are machine washable so they can be used over and over again. I personally love using these when I'm bringing dishes to friends and families houses. They make transporting the food easy and colorful!
To purchase the same dish covers that I have along with other designs and sizes, visit their website here.
