This Iced Mocha contains no dairy, no refined sugars and no….coffee! Yup, you read that right! Instead of using coffee, I used Rasa’s Cacao Brew which is full of energizing adaptogens and cacao for a chocolatey drink.
If you’re like me, coffee is more than just your morning coffee. It’s a ritual. It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning. And when my kids don’t sleep well, coffee is what gets me through the day. But is it really healthy to rely on coffee in that way? When I do sleep well, I love my cozy mornings with my warm mug, but I need it when the nights are long and not restorative. Now, Rasa is not going to provide a quick fix over night. At least that’s what I noticed. - 4 tbsp Rasa Cacao Brew
- 16 oz water
- 1/2 cup coconut milk or nut milk of choice
- 4 tsp maple syrup
- Measure out the 16 ounces of water and bring to a boil on the stove top. Add the 4 tablespoons of Rasa Cacao Brew (I know this is double than what Rasa recommends. We want the brew to be strong so we are adding double!) to a french press or to a tea filter. Once the water is boiling, pour on top of the Rasa Cacao Brew and allow to rest for 20 minutes. Once brewed, place in a glass container and chill in the refridgerator for a minimum of one hour
- Once chilled, combine the brewed Rasa, coconut milk and maple syrup in a drink shaker (or pour in a glass and stir with a straw!) and shake for about twenty seconds or until everything is well mixed. Pour over ice and enjoy!
