    Frozen banana twix bars

We all know and love Twix and Snickers Bars, but they are not what come to mind when I think of healthy. Snickers and Twix bars are full of processed sugar and ingredients the majority of us can't pronounce.

I created the perfect healthy dessert with lots of variations for the candy bar lovers in your family. This recipe was inspired by Earthy Andy and her banana popsicles and is the perfect snack or treat during the hot summer months.

Next, add some chopped peanuts or another kind of not for some crunch.

Lastly, spread melted chocolate on top and then freeze again for 15 minutes before enjoying.

Hint: Line the baking tray with parchment paper. When the bananas freeze, they may stick to the baking tray. Lining the tray with parchment paper makes it so they don't stick!

    Substitutions

    • Soy-free - make sure to use soy-free chocolate chips such as Enjoy Life.
    • Peanut-free - using peanuts and peanut butter in this recipe is completely optional. Using sunflower seed butter or cashew butter are two great alternatives.
    • Dairy-free - believe it or not, a lot of chocolate chips contain dairy. Find a chocolate chip brand that is dairy-free. My favorite is Enjoy Life.

    Variations

A few variations on how to make this recipe fun and exciting!

    • Snickers Bar - spread some vegan caramel sauce over the frozen banana slice. Add some chopped peanuts then, drizzle with melted chocolate.
    • Peanut butter Snickers Bar - spread a small amount of smooth peanut butter on the banana slice. Next, add some chopped peanuts and then drizzle with melted chocolate.
    • Twix Bar - spread a small amount of vegan caramel sauce on the banana slice. Freeze for 15 minutes then drizzle melted chocolate over top. Bonus: Sprinkle coarse sea salt on the chocolate.
    • PayDay Bar - spread vegan caramel sauce on the banana slice then top with chopped peanuts. Drizzle melted chocolate on top and a small amount of coarse sea salt.
